NEUROPSYCHIATRY UNIT

The North Western Mental Health and Melbourne Health's Neuropsychiatry Unit is a tertiary-level, statewide specialist service located in a modern, purpose-built facility on the Royal Melbourne Hospital Campus at Parkville. The unit also forms the clinical arm of the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Centre, a joint centre between Melbourne Health and the University of Melbourne Department of Psychiatry.

The unit employs a multidisciplinary approach, with team members from the disciplines of neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, neurology, social work and specialist mental health and general nursing, working in partnership to provide patients and their families with a comprehensive assessment, and management advice.

Referrals for assessments are accepted from throughout Victoria. As the only purpose-built inpatient facility of its type in the region, the Neuropsychiatry Unit may also accept referrals from other sites interstate and internationally.
